Per The Atheltic’s Greg Auman, former Bucs great Jimmie Giles will announce the Bucs’ draft picks on Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Giles joins a large list of NFL greats set to announce draft picks for their own respective teams next week. Names such as Orlando Pace, John Randle, Anthony Munoz, and even active players are participating this year.

Giles is a former tight end and a member of Tampa Bay’s Ring Of Honor. He was drafted by the then-Houston Oilers in the third round of the 1977 draft. The Bucs traded for Giles the following year. He would play the next eight seasons in Tampa Bay before joining the Detroit Lions at the midseason point in 1986.

The former Buc caught 279 passes for 4,300 yards and 34 touchdowns and made four Pro Bowls from 1978-1986. He held the franchise record for the most career touchdown receptions until a guy named Mike Evans came along. Giles became a member of the Ring of Honor in 2011. His team-record of four receiving touchdowns still stands to this day.

The second and third rounds of the draft are on Friday, April 30. Giles will announce the draft picks at the podium this year, unlike last year when Roger Goodell hosted the event from his basement.
