Arians Discloses The Hold Up On The Brown Deal

Buccaneer fans have been wondering why the Antonio Brown signing hasn’t been officially announced yet by the team. Head coach Bruce Arians addressed the reason on an episode of the Pewter Report Podcast Tuesday.

Arians said the hold up with putting pen to paper has been held up until Brown passes a physical. Brown is expected to get a knee scope this upcoming week. Once that is cleared up and the physical passed Brown should be officially signed.

“He has to pass the physical. Hopefully we’ll have a scope on Tuesday, he’s getting his knee cleaned out, and everything will work out fine. It’s just a matter of a physical.”

In eight regular season games last season with the Buccaneers, Brown brought in 45 catches for 483 yards and four touchdowns. He added a touchdown in the wildcard game against Washington before missing time in the Saints and Packers games due to a knee injury. Brown made his postseason return in the Super Bowl where he caught 5 balls for 22 yards and a score.
