O.J. Howard Joins Elite NFL Tight Ends In Summit

What does O.J. Howard, George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Greg Olsen all have in common besides playing the tight end position? They are all participating in ‘Tight End University’ this offseason, which is a league-wide summit for tight ends. The summit brings together some of the best tight ends in the league to hone their game heading into the 2021 NFL season.

The 19th overall pick in 2017 is coming off of his third shortened season after missing the majority of 2020 with an Achilles tendon injury. Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians stated in late May that Howard was progressing well and “the sky is the limit”. It will be interesting to see how he participates in this event.

Howard is an extremely gifted athlete and could easily be a top tight end in the NFL. His struggle has been durability and consistency. Regardless, it’s good to see him participating in something like this, because it means he is another step closer to a return from his injury.
