Buccaneers Update Murphy-Bunting’s Status

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are turning their eyes towards the Atlanta Falcons after narrowly beating the Dallas Cowboys in their season opener. During that game cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting was injured, test during the game came back negative. Today we find out after further testing that the injury will keep him out for at least three games.

Long-snapper Zach Triner was also injured during the Dallas game and has been added to the injured reserve list. As a result, the Buccaneers have signed former Jaguar long-snapper Carson Tinker to the 53-man roster.

After promoting safety Andrew Adams to the active roster, the Bucs signed cornerback Pierre Desir and safety Chris Cooper to the practice squad. The team may still be in the market for a cornerback as they move forward. The question is, do they feel comfortable with what they have, or will they make a move for a veteran? If not, look for Ross Cockrell to take over for Murphy-Bunting in the slot.
