Buccaneers Arians “Comfortable” with Gabbert and Trask if Brady Retires

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians spoke with the media Monday morning following the Buccaneers 30-27 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

The question of Tom Brady’s future with the team obviously came up. Arians gave the obligatory answer of “I haven’t talked to him yet. But take all the time he needs and we’ll see”. Then when answering the follow up question of if not Brady then who? Arians dropped this head turner.

Coach speak is definitely a factor here, I mean we didn’t expect him to say “we’re screwed without Tom”, or “we need to sign someone because our quarterback room sucks”. But if he or anyone else thinks Blaine Gabbert is the guy, or Kyle Trask is ready, then it’s going to be a long season next year.

I think it’s safe to say that if Brady doesn’t come back the Buccaneers will be looking behind “door number two”. Let the speculation begin to who that may be.
