Report: Leftwich Removes Name From Consideration For Jaguars Job

0

In a stunning turn of events, reports that Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich has removed his name for consideration for the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching position.

Leftwich was considered the frontrunner for the job a mere few weeks ago, however, the organization did not move forward. It is being reported that former Raiders Interim head coach Rich Bisaccia and former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson are the finalist for the position.

The interest in one another was mutual, but a contract was never offered as the team wanted to interview more candidates before making a set decision. It looks like he will not be going back to the team that drafted him seventh overall in the 2003 NFL Draft.

Leftwich is still in consideration for other head coaching opportunities, however, will return as the offensive coordinator barring an offer from a team to be the head coach.
