Buccaneers are the 2022 NFC South Favorites

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been the betting favorite to win the NFC South Division in the NFL since Tom Brady joined the team after departing the New England Patriots almost three seasons ago.

Now that Brady has “retired,” fans and NFL analysts alike are wondering if Tampa Bay will be able to maintain their winning ways.

The Buccaneers have a lot of decisions to make with the NFL combine ongoing and the draft approaching, but that hasn’t prevented books from offering future odds on where they see the Buccaneers at the end of the 2022 season.

The Buccaneers, according to BetMGM and Larry Holder, have the highest odds to win the division again this season, followed by the Saints, Panthers, and Falcons.

The question mark at quarterback is an overriding trend across most of the NFC South teams. With Brady’s retirement, the Buccaneers’ only quarterback under contract is Kyle Trask. The Saints could re-sign Jameis Winston or stick with Taysom Hill, a QB/TE combination.

The Panthers have Sam Darnold, but it remains to be seen if he can realize the potential that many predicted would make him a starter quarterback in the NFL.

With Matt Ryan returning, the Falcons have the most secure choice; yet, Matty Ice is not getting any younger, so they may seek elsewhere in the draft or free agency market.
