Is Ndamukong Suh Ready to Return to the Buccaneers?

The news of Bruce Arians stepping down as Buccaneers head coach dominated the news cycle overnight Wednesday and into Thursday morning. With Arians’ announcement also came the promotion of defensive coordinator Todd Bowles to head coach.

Thursday morning defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh tweeted out his congratulations to Bowles and made a pitch to be re-signed.

Suh has been a stalwart up front for the Buccaneers defense. Ever since joining the team in 2019, Suh has been the anchor of that line. His ability to be disruptive was a key to not only a dominant run defense but a benefit for the Buccaneers pass rushers.

Suh is getting up there in age no doubt, but the guy is still playing at a high level. The value he brings in the development of Vita Vea is priceless. The tone he sets in game is one of ferocity and passion, just ask Aaron Rodgers. His presence in the locker room is something not mentioned enough, but of great value.

Look for the Buccaneers to bring Suh back at some point this offseason. Not just because Bowles is the head coach now. Definitely not because of his recent tweet. But because he is the player the Buccaneers need on that line.
