Buccaneers Licht on Drafting TE’s “Won’t Affect” Potential Gronk Return

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took not just one, but two tight ends in the 2022 NFL Draft. With those picks came great speculation that free agent tight end Rob Gronkowski might not be in the Buccaneers future.

As ESPN’s Jenna Laine reports, Buccaneers general manager and noted pool diver Jason Licht said the dtafting of these tight ends, “won’t affect potential Rob Gronkowski return.”

“I’m still giving him that time,” Licht stated. “We still talk. I think it didn’t matter if we drafted two tight ends. It wouldn’t matter. I think Rob welcomes that; the more the merrier for him. So that doesn’t show our hand on or foretell what’s going to happen in the future.”

Gronkowski has been in Vegas this week hosting his “Gronk Beach” party. During that time Gronkowski spoke with TMZ and stated he was still undecided. He went on to say, “It’s just the Bucs. Love that organization, man. Love the guys there. It’s family over there.”

All signs still point to Gronk returning to the Buccaneers, the question seems to be more when, not if. The Buccaneers now have Cameron Brate, Cade Otton, Codey McElroy and Ko Kieft as their tight end unit.
