Buccaneers’ Fournette Has Plan to Lure Gronk Out of Retirement

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ running back Leonard Fournette is not ready to let tight end Rob Gronkowski retire peacefully. Fournette has not kept secret his desire to have the Gronk back in pewter and red sooner than later.

The Buccaneers have a pretty stocked allotment of offensive weapons at Tom Brady’s disposal. But Gronk is different, and Fournette isn’t ready to give up on his return. Fournette was recently on The Rich Eisen Show when the topic of Gronkowski’s retirement came up.

“Just know, I will be calling his phone 24/7 for the offseason, regular season. We’re going to need Gronk, man. Gronk, he’s special to our program, to the team, to that locker room. His energy, his vibe, man. Who wouldn’t want to have him as a teammate? He’s a great guy and I love Gronk.”

Fournette asking you to come back carries some weight, now if Fournette and Brady could pool their efforts that might work. But if you’ve been following Gronkowski this offseason, you’d see what appears to be a man living his best life. While that might not fall in line with what we all think is best for him, it’s ultimately his choice. One we may not like or agree with, but must respect.
