Gronkowski’s Agent “Wouldn’t Be Surprised” at a Return in 2022

The Rob Gronkowski story this offseason had more twists and turns than Lombard Street in San Francisco. One day he’s definitely retiring, the next he’s hinting at returning. He’ll come back if the Bucs sign Julian Edelman to he has no interest in returning. It was a vicious cycle.

Agents are gonaa..gonna… well, agent. Their job is to squeeze every dime they can out of teams and in endorsement deals. Gronkowski’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus just happens to be a master at his craft. So when we hear him talk of a potential Gronk return, it’s worth noting.

Via the Associated Press‘ Rob Maaddi,

This is an opinion, but one you could argue comes from inside knowledge. The flip side is, Rosenhaus’ job is to keep Gronkowski relevant. Keeping the rumor of a potential return definitely helps in negotiating new endorsement or TV deals.

So when Rosenhaus says he “wouldn’t be surprised” and that he has a “gut feeling”, it may be marketing, but it could also be projection. We’re hoping for the ladder.
