The Buccaneers Are Bad, But Have The Formula To Win

0

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one win away from clinching a playoff berth. Just as they planned all along. All jokes aside, this Bucs season has been miserable, and it’s a miracle this team can even make the playoffs. And with all the bad this team has put out, there’s one shining spot, the defense. And that’s the “formula” the Bucs will have to lean on.

The Buccaneers Last Four Wins

Last second touchdown to beat a non playoff team, a game in Germany against the Seahawks, a miraculous comeback against the Saints and an overtime win against a four win team without their star quarterback. This team is not playing good football, but they have shown a way to eke out victories.

How Bad Are The Bucs?

The truth is this team is not good when they have to execute, but I will continuously say that this team is one of the most talented in the league. It seems like something has to go wrong and nothing can run flawlessly at any moment. Sure, we can sit here and blame the coaching, but that’s not going to change until the end of the season, so this team has to roll with what they got. The Bucs have not played well or even close to that, but they have talent and the NFL has seen crazier things happen. This team knows that nothing matter if you lose the last game of the season.

The Winning Formula

This season may be one from hell, but this team has shown a way to win. Let’s quickly note that Tom Brady is still the quarterback and every time people have doubted him he has seemed to just win. Throughout the whole season, Todd Bowles has put together one hell of a defense. Even when this team is injured, they are good enough to keep any game within striking distance, and that’s even with nearly no turnovers.

If this defense can keep the game close, it won’t really matter how bad the offense is. If you let Brady throw the ball 40+ times a game with this receiving corp and a healthy offensive line, I think they can beat any team in the league and go on a run. This formula will have a small margin of error, but it’s frankly too late to try anything else.
