The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are moving tackle Tristan Wirfs to the left side of the offensive line. The 24-year-old All-Pro tackle confirmed this Tuesday.
Tristan Wirfs said Todd Bowles told him the day after the season ended that Bucs were probably shifting him to left tackle. Said he’s still adjusting to left side after so much work at right tackle. Getting used to it day by day.

“I’ve had thousands of reps on the right side, and I’m going in as a newborn baby on the left. It’s all different. It’s so similar. You’re doing the same stuff, but it’s all flipped.” Via Fox Sports’ Greg Auman, “Every day. I have very high expectations of myself. I don’t want to let anybody else down, so it’s just doing my best to keep those thoughts positive, to kind of just take every day as an opportunity to get better. I think about that all day, every day.”
This report’s origin can be traced all the way back to the exit meetings head coach Todd Bowles had with Wirfs following the 2022 season. As reported then by Fox Sports’ Greg Auman, the team would probably move Wirfs to the left tackle position.
