Dirk Koetter was seen at a Tampa DMV and the media and fans went crazy by saying this is a sure sign that Koetter is Tampa’s next head coach. That was the furthest thing from the truth. However, there is still a chance that he does become the next coach, but renewing your tag and your drivers license on time has nothing to do with that.
“Football coaches aren’t any different than football fans when it comes to abiding by the rules of the road. Just like the fans that cheer them on and second guess their every move, they have to take care of their license tags every year and provide proof of insurance. And that’s all that Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter was doing Wednesday when he was photographed at a local tax collector’s office. So says Andres Trescastro, the Bucs’ director of team security who accompanied Koetter on the visit. The photograph quickly made the rounds on social media. Tresastro said he was with Koetter because, in part, it’s his job to make sure players and coaches get their tags renewed on time. Primarily, however, it was because Koetter was in need of assistance after recently undergoing a medical procedure on his hip.” – Reported by Roy Cummings
