The Buccaneers offensive line

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers played amazingly well, with rookies and backups on the line. The rookies Marpet, and Smith stepped up and took on the role, and fit in like they have been on the Bucs line for years.

“From the first preseason game, it looked as if offensive line play would be a serious concern for the Buccaneers. The team was going to start two rookies and it’s most consistent player from the previous season, right tackle Demar Dotson suffered a serious knee injury. That inexperience didn’t seem like a recipe for success, especially with a rookie quarterback starting. The Buccaneers’ offensive line however proved to be one of the pleasant surprises of the season for the team. Tampa Bay’s Doug Martin finished second in the league in rushing and the Buccaneers only allowed 27 sacks this season.” – Reported by Rick Brown
