Bucs vastly improved on 3rd down defense

qayersTo any Bucs fan. It’s certainly not a surprise that the Buccaneers have given up far too many big plays on defense. Red zone defense has been lacking as well. They’re ranked 20th in the league, allowing teams to score 61.1% of the time.

What is a surprise, however, is the fact that our defense is ranked #2 in the league at stopping opposing offenses on 3rd downs with an impressive 68.9% stop rate. An accomplishment that would prove to be a huge improvement over past years and gives the offense more opportunities to score, hopefully, they can start taking advantage of those opportunities more very soon.

Smith believes the defense will only get better as the younger players continue gaining experience while waiting for the veterans to return from injuries.
