Adam Rank of NFL.com selects the Bucs for Super Bowl LII

“That’s right — the Bucs are my pick to represent the NFC this season in the Super Bowl. I told this to Bucs fan Dick Vitale and he likes where my head is at on this one.”  That is what Rank stated in his recent article Why you should root for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  All this positive publicity is surely a new thing for the Bucs, who have not been treated very fairly over the past decade, and I, as well as many fans, are absolutely loving it!

Our Buccaneers are on the cusp of greatness and many thought that for a few years, but not many in the media even mentioned us as being much of a contender. However, this year seems to be totally different. Many who have followed the Bucs for over a decade or more, are “feeling the power” once again. You can almost smell a championship in the air.

Having Jameis Winston at the helm has proved to be a key component to sparking a winning mentality in the Buccaneers locker room and that air of former glory is finding its way back into circulation around One Buc Place. Last season, was our first winning season in a long time; Although A 9-7 record may not be impressive for a lot of fans around the NFL,  or even considered good by many. But for us Bucs fans, it gives us hope for the future and was a welcomed change. It also has caught the eye and ear of the outside media.

During this past off-season, the Buccaneers did nothing but improve their weapons beginning with the additions of DeSean Jackson, Chris Baker, and J.J. Wilcox. Those selections by themselves boosted the Buccaneers talent level. However, GM Jason Licht, again, put together another surprising draft. The selections of O.J. Howard, Chris Godwin, Justin Evans, Kendell Beckwith, Stevie Tu’ikolovatu, and Jeremy McNichols did nothing but boost our talent even further.

Jameis is poised to surpass his prior two season performance, and Doug Martin seems to be cocked and ready to go. Cameron Brate and Adam Humphries are continually improving on what has been solid performances, since coming into the league, and Mike Evans is, well, just awesome.

Brent Grimes came in last year and did his thing in helping to solidify the secondary, despite what “some” specialists think they know about the man. Vernon Hargreaves received a lot of flack for his performance last year, but salty fans will be salty fans. As I see it, he was a rookie and did damn good on a defensive scheme that was changing as it progressed.

The Buccaneers being showcased on Hard Knocks this year has many fans worrying about curse this and distraction that, but I think it will only help to add to the players want to win more and boost their egos! Let’s not forget that it will also bring more fans. I know we as die-hard fans do not care for bandwagoners very much, but this die-hard welcomes them! The more the merrier! Let’s fill up the ship and start off on our journey, for this season should be one of the most exciting seasons and rewarding we have had the luxury of experiencing in a long time!

Adam Rank, I am 100% of a like mind when it comes to thinking that this year, it could finally be our turn!
