Dante Fowler Jr. was arrested on Tuesday night for simple battery and mischief. The St. Petersburg native was driving in the Treliss at Lake apartments off of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St around 6:30 p.m. when an altercation between Fowler and a man walking had occurred.
According to the police report, the man made a comment about Fowler’s driving at which point Fowler stopped and exited his vehicle. Following an exchange of words, Fowler then knocked the man’s prescription glasses from his face, stepped on them and then took his grocery bags and then threw them into the near by lake.
The man was not injured. Fowler has since been released on $650.00 bond.
