On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the field in Carolina to play the second-last game of the year. Carolina has been playing very well lately, winning three out of their last four contests. Containing Cam Newton will be key to having a chance in this game. A tough task, especially with a highly depleted defense like Tampa’s.
Jameis Winston needs to have a performance comparable to the one he had last Monday. If he manages to have another gem like that he will keep Tampa Bay in the game. Winston is playing for the future and should deliver another solid performance, and hopefully restrengthens his bond with star Wide Receiver Mike Evans, which will be very important for next year. Evans has been underperforming and has shown his frustration over the Bucs’ terrible season on multiple occasions.
All in all, the Panthers are playing for the playoffs and the Bucs’ defense, full of replacement players, will not be able to stop Cam Newton. Panthers win a close game, 28 – 24! The loss will not hurt at this point of the year. Yet, beating the Panthers in Carolina would feel amazing, for sure.
