And Just Like That Eric Reid Is Gone.

Earlier I wrote an article giving various reasons why Ried would fit in Tampa and why he may not. Now it does not matter.

The Carolina Panthers have signed the veteran Saftey to a one-year contract. The signing, however, does not affect his collusion grievance. there was no settlement given along with his deal.

Panthers General Manager Marty Hurney stated that Eric had been a starting safety in the NFL and has played at a high level throughout his career. He continued to say that after they put safety Da’Norris Searcy on IR, that he and HC Ron Riveria discussed the options. Ried was at the top of that list.

Reid, who is 26, played five seasons in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers. The former first-round pick of the 2013 NFL draft played out his entire 4-year $8,480,736 contract.

Last year Reid played in 13 games recording 67 tackles, 2 interceptions, four pass defends, and a fumble recovery.
