Shannon Sharpe: “I think Winston is equally as talented as Roethlisberger… Arians will get the best out of Jameis!”

Shannon Sharpe recently talked with Skip Bayless on ESPN’s Undisputed about the Bucs’ hiring of Bruce Arians and how it will affect the play of franchise quarterback Jameis Winston. Hall of Famer and former tight end Shannon Sharpe had a few interesting things to say about the former Seminole, claiming he were just as good as Ben Roethlisberger and expecting big things from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense in 2019,

“I think Jameis Winston is equally as talented as Ben Roethlisberger… He’s nothing like Peyton (Manning), he’s nothing like (Andrew) Luck. I believe he can play like Ben. Arians got the best out of Big Ben. I believe he’ll get the best out of Jameis…. He knows how to work with a quarterback. They’re different. He doesn’t ask any quarterback to be anything they’re not.” – Shannon Sharpe, ESPN

Both analysts believe that Arians could turn the Bucs around. They did mention, however, that the interceptions are a concern. Bayless added,

“I think he’ll listen to Bruce, because Bruce and he could be a really great match. They could really go places… And he said all the right things about Jameis. He said, ‘I like his leadership, his competitiveness, and he’s got a big arm.’ That, he can work with.” – Skip Bayless, ESPN

Very promising words for Bucs fans. Hopefully, the quarterback whisperer can work his magic on Jameis the way he did it with the likes of Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck, Carson Palmer, Peyton Manning and more.
