Apollos Nation Embraces “Trickeration”

Do you know what is better than being undefeated at 4-0 and the best team in the Alliance of American Football (AAF)? That’s a trick question because for Orlando Apollos fans, there isn’t much that could be—other than the upstart Magic continuing their climb and becoming an Eastern conference powerhouse, or maybe Disney World offering Florida residents free days at the park. The complete dominance of the AAF has been a sweet success. The momentum the Apollos are riding as they go into this week’s game against the 3-1 Birmingham Iron is solid.

Last Saturday’s game at Salt Lake City wasn’t exactly the Snow Bowl, but the team from central Florida proved that a little slippery stuff on the field would not stop Orlando from doing what it took to grab a victory on the road in inclement weather.

The Atlanta Legends, San Antonio Commanders, Memphis Express and Salt Lake Stallions have all felt the afterburn of the Apollos’ jets. Orlando has remained undefeated by a total score of 118-63, which means Apollos fans have gotten exactly what they signed up for: a competitive team that plays great offense, a surprisingly strong defense, and Coach Spurrier “trickeration.”

The network execs have to spread the love. Even though an undefeated Apollos team should be the darling of the league (shhh, they are), flexing this Saturday’s game versus Birmingham into the prime time 8:00pm slot might be a stretch with the Birmingham Iron no longer being undefeated. They are now 3-1, having lost their first game last weekend against the San Diego Commanders 12-11. One thing is for sure: no matter the time for the start of this Saturday’s game from Legion Field in Alabama, the Apollos will be flying high, looking to once again protect that goose egg in the loss column.
