Winston continues to improve

Buccaneers train camp has been going on for a week now and starting quarterback Jameis Winston has had his good days and bad days. Today, was another good day.

The much maligned quarterback’s struggles have been covered in great depth, but in the last few practices he has shown the accuracy and decision making that reinforces head coach Bruce Arians decision to name him the starting quarterback during the offseason.

Now I’m not going to sit here and say Winston was perfect Friday in practice. He did have some errant throws and bad reads in practice and did struggle near the end of the day. You do have to factor in the aggressive nature of Todd Bowles’ defense.

Winston, now playing in the 5th year option of his rookie contract seems to be on the right track to not only have a solid season but to earn that elusive 2nd contract from the Buccaneers.
