Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians is always straight to the point and is always good for a quote. Today he told the media “It would be easy to cut down to 60 right now.” That should be an eye opener to the players that currently make up this 90 man roster. It is also the kind of bluntness we are becoming accustomed to hearing from the first year head coach of the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers before coach Arians took over were a team that lacked discipline, accountability and of course wins. While the Buccaneers under Arians haven’t gotten to the point of addressing the wins issue, there is a new sense of discipline and accountability.
Lets go back to today’s quote. If the head coach is already comfortable in saying he could cut 30 players “right now” that means there are really only 60 players fighting for the final 53 spots on the Buccaneers roster. This also means there are basically seven position battles, but what positions and which players are in that battle? We will unpack this and more tonight on The Sports Web at 10pm LIVE on Bucs Report!
