The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Carolina Panthers 20-14 to go to 1-1 on the season.

The game featured some great individual efforts by numerous players. Three players that stood out were as follows.

Shaq Barrett

Barrett had a phenomenal game applying pressure on nearly every snap.

Tackles: 3
Sacks: 3

Chris Godwin:

Catches:8
Yards: 121
TDs: 1

Jameis Winston:

Passing: 16 of 25
Yards: 208
TDs:1
INTs: 0

The Buccaneers desperately needed this win. Not just for the victory but for overall confidence within the organization. The offense needed to show the ability to move the chains, control the clock and protect the football. They did just that. The defense needed to show they could make a stop when it mattered and apply pressure to the quarterback. They did just that. The team needed Winston to not turn the ball over. He just did that.

The Buccaneers just did that.
