The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a great core of solid players on and off the field. We all appreciate and sometimes even brag about their play between the lines. When the team garners national attention for their play on the field, the fanbase appreciates it. But there’s more to these players than just a stat line.
Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year. The award is considered one of the league’s most prestigious honors. Evans had this to say about the nomination:
“Being nominated for Walter Payton Man of the Year is overwhelming – it’s a big deal, I never thought I could be a nominee. To be in the same conversation as other players who do tremendous things in their community, I’m truly honored.”
The Mike Evans Family Foundation is celebrating its second year of supporting educational development and assists students from low-income families. The foundation also supports women and families affected by domestic violence.
Kudos to Evans the person, the man, and the player.
