As the Tampa Bay Buccaneers start to build their team for next year a few familiar faces will be back. I just spoke with safety Javon Hagan and outside linebacker Quinton Bell. The Buccaneers informed both players today they were being signed to futures contracts.
Bell started the first 5 games on the active roster playing mostly special teams, before be bumped down. Hagan spent the entire season on the practice squad but was called up for the Green Bay Packers game which saw him play on special teams.
According to Greg Auman, the Buccaneers are also signing offensive lineman Nick Leverett, offensive lineman John Molchon. Leverett had been on and off the practice squad throughout the season while Molchon made the club out of camp and was placed on the short term IR list. He was activated and waived and signed to the practice squad where he spent the rest of the season.
A few more futures contracts confirmed for the Bucs, signing guys from their practice squad: OLB Quinton Bell, OL John Molchon now signed.

Lots more coming today, but rookie guard Nick Leverett has signed a futures contract with the Bucs. Spent most of the year on practice squad, came to Tampa Bay undrafted after playing at N.C. Central and Rice.

Locking up young talent that was with the team during the season is always a good move. With these signings the Buccaneers have started the process of putting together a team that plans to “run it back.”
