Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-Round Mock: Bucs Trade Down

In my first mock draft, I have the Buccaneers trading out of the 32nd pick with the Jets. In the trade, the Jets get the wide receiver (Elijah Moore Ole Miss WR) they desperately need with the 32nd pick and Tampa Bay gets the 34th and 86th pick. Here’s how I think it may unfold. Trading down two spots the first pick for the Bucs will be in the 2nd round, 34th overall.

2nd Round (34th)

Jayson Oweh

– Height: 6’5
– Weight: 252 lbs
– Position: Edge Rusher
– School: Penn State

At 6’5” 252 lb, Oweh ran an unofficial 4.33 40yd dash. Some may say that’s what you call closing speed. This freakish athlete also has a vertical of almost 37”. This is the stuff quarterbacks have nightmares about. While his length and explosiveness help him excel in passing situations, his lack of second and third moves hurt him in run defense. Some good coaching and a year behind Jason Pierre-Paul should do the trick. Oweh could be the heir apparent to Pierre-Paul.

2nd Round (64)

Jabril Cox

– Height: 6’4
– Weight: 231 lbs
– Position: Linebacker
– School: LSU

A Butkus Award Semi-Finalist in his red-shirt senior year, Cox exploded into the FBS. After leading North Dakota State to three National Titles, he had the cream of the crop in the SEC beating down his door. Choosing LSU to play his last and final year of eligibility, he proved he was the typical LSU linebacker we Bucs fans are used to seeing. With great quickness, Cox is a ball hawking linebacker in coverage. Rumored to run a sub 4.6 40yd dash, he could be the LVD Mini Me we all hope for.
With the 86th pick why leave Tiger Country?

3rd Round (86)

Tyler Shelvin

– Height: 6’3
– Weight: 346 lbs
– Position: Defensive Tackle
– School: LSU

This mass of humanity would have been a first round pick if he hadn’t opted out of the 2020 season. His stats aren’t gaudy, but he is built to do what a 3-4 nose tackle should do. He is great against the run and can push the pocket. He isn’t Vea, but he can spell him as he grows into a more important role.

3rd Round (95)

Rhamondre Stevenson

– Height: 6’0
– Weight: 245 lbs
– Position: Running Back
– School: Oklahoma

With the 95th pick I really think the Buccaneers brass will look to replace Leonard Fournette, who I predict will end up on the only Florida NFL team he has yet to play for, the Miami Dolphins.

At 6’0 246 lbs and running a 4.55-40, Stevenson is just fast enough to make sure you regret hitting him. In his final college season, he averaged just under 6yds a carry. While he lacks break away speed, he more than makes up for it with his wrecking ball build. If Fournette does go, we may see Stevenson take some reps from Keyshawn Vaughn.
