Buccaneers Pro Bowl edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul revealed today on his Instagram story that he is getting surgery on his left knee. Pierre-Paul said he had played during the season at about “60 to 70 percent”. A scary thought for opposing offenses as the Buccaneers’ lone Pro Bowler and team leader in sacks.

In his story, Pierre-Paul went on to say: “get this Sh*t done to get back to another Super Bowl next year.” Back in June before the season, he had what was described as a minor arthroscopic clean up knee surgery as well. The knee injury caused him to routinely miss practice as “veteran days” and had him on the injury report most of the year.
Pierre-Paul had a team high 9.5 sacks, adding two interceptions and 55 total tackles during the regular season. In the playoffs the intensity continued chipping in two additional sacks and 13 tackles, three of them for loss.
