On Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially announced the re-signing of backup quarterback Ryan Griffin.
The team announced the news via press release:
“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today re-signed quarterback Ryan Griffin. As per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Griffin (6-5, 210) returns for his seventh year with Tampa Bay after originally being claimed off waivers by the Buccaneers, from the New Orleans Saints, on Sept. 6, 2015. He originally entered the league as a college free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2013. Griffin has played in two career games, completing 2-of-4 passing attempts for 18 yards.
The Santa Monica, California, native was a four-year starter at Tulane. He wears No. 4 for Tampa Bay.”
Tom Brady is no longer the only quarterback on the Buccaneers’ roster and many are still wondering whether or not they re-sign Blaine Gabbert or draft a quarterback to address the backup position.
