Peyton Manning Is A Fan Of Chris Godwin’s Game

Peyton Manning knows what it takes to be a great player in the NFL, so it should be no surprise that he’s a fan of Chris Godwin.

The Bucs recently released the first episode of their six-part In The Current series on and Manning made a special appearance. He is seen on camera chatting with Tom Brady, Bruce Arians, Tom Moore, and others before the Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Manning specifically asks about Godwin in the scene, which starts right around the 19:50 mark.

“Good to have Godwin back today, huh?” a masked-up, sunglasses-wearing Manning asks Brady. After Brady responds with an obvious “Yeah”, Manning then says, “I know. I like the way he plays.”

Godwin missed the Week 2 matchup against the Panthers due to a concussion, but was able to play against the Broncos. He didn’t disappoint, either. Godwin finished the game five catches on six targets for 54 yards and a touchdown. He also registered an 83.7% catch rate on a mark of 6.8 yards per target. Brady had a 150.7 quarterback rating when targeting Godwin in that game.

There are plenty of great moments strewn throughout the episode, but this one easily stands out. Compliments from players such as Manning shouldn’t be taken lightly.
