Buccaneers’ Sherman to Assist Coaching CBs Against Bears

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are entering Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears missing several players due to injury. Sunday on the NFL on Fox pregame show Peter Schrager reported Buccaneers defensive backs coach Kevin Ross out due to COVID-19 protocols.

During Schrager’s report, he also informed us that injured defensive back Richard Sherman has been assisting this week with coaching the defensive backs.

“Kevin Ross the defensive backs coach, he too is out due to COVID protocols,” Schrager stated. “So I’m told all week someone had to step up and coach the DBs. Richard Sherman, injured, yet he was coaching the defensive backs all week long in Tampa. And today, despite being injured, Sherman dove right in.”

“Ross will not be out there. Todd Bowles obviously will be coaching the defense and will be running the defensive backs room, but Richard Sherman will be serving as an assistant coach today on the sidelines.”

As Schrager also reported, Sherman will play a role in assisting Todd Bowles during the game against the Bears.
