JT Olson’s Week Eleven NFL Power Rankings

0

We are at a crossroads in the NFL. We have seen upset after upset in recent weeks. The teams we felt were running away have looked vulnerable at times and the teams we thought were dead and buried have shown a pulse. It’s been a reminder that truly any given team can win on any given day. After the dust has now settled, here are my week eleven NFL power rankings

32) Detroit Lions

The Lions will not achieve reverse perfection! Pop the champagne because 0-17 is officially dead! Granted, the winless season is still on the table.

31) Houston Texans

It was a merciful week where no one was subjected to Houston Texans football. It was also perhaps the last week of the season where the Texans don’t get another loss.

30) Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars followed up their big upset win with a respectable six point loss to the Colts. If I didn’t know better I would say that there’s real growth happening in Jacksonville and they are starting to resemble a real NFL team.

29) New York Jets

All the luster of upsetting the Bengals three weeks ago is gone. The Jets have now suffered two embarrassing losses in a row and look as bad as ever.To make things worse, Joe Flacco is their starting quarterback now.

28) Miami Dolphins

It was an exciting Thursday night win over the Ravens in Miami. This is likely the high water mark of the Dolphins season, but they have some talent and may be interesting down the stretch.

27) Chicago Bears

The Bears have been banged up this year and have suffered through the growing pains of a young quarterback. However, they are starting to get a little closer to healthy. We’ll call their season questionable to return at this point.

26) Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks finally got star quarterback Russell Wilson back over the weekend. However, him and the Seattle offense came out and laid a goose egg in their 17-0 loss to the Packers. I still believe this is a sleeper wild card team, but only if Wilson can carry them their.

25) New York Giants

The Giants had their bye last week, which means they are still on their one game winning streak. They have played opponents tough this year and are feisty if nothing else.

24) Atlanta Falcons

A 40 point loss will make any fan base feel deflated. Despite that, the Falcons are still 4-5 and in the thick of the playoff race. I think their talent level is closer to blowout losses than the playoffs, but we’ll see what their made of.

23) Washington Football Team

The upset of the weekend was the Team beating the defending champions. Their defensive line looked as good as we always expected it to and the offense was able to sustain long drives. Perhaps a sign of things to come.

22) San Francisco 49ers

For the first time this season, the 49ers have beat a good team. Their win over the Rams was impressive and if they could build off that momentum then they could still salvage their season.

21) Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have gone from a lifeless franchise to one of the most prolific rushing offenses in the league. They had a convincing win over the Broncos and might be the most intimidating bad team in the league. At this pace, I won’t be able to call them a bad team much longer.

20) Cincinnati Bengals

The bye came at the right time for the Bengals. Just as it felt like their season was spiraling out of control, they get a chance to regroup. We’ll see if they were able to do that this week vs the Raiders.

19) Denver Broncos

The ups and downs continue for the Broncos. They have really become the poster child of mediocre at this point in the season.

18) Minnesota Vikings

It was a good win over a good Chargers team over the weekend. The Vikings have been through the ringer with a bunch of close games this year. If they can learn to close those games out, then they’re a team to watch.

17) Oakland Raiders

You have to wonder how much one team can overcome with all the off the field issues and all the losses the Raiders have had this year. After their 41-14 loss to the Chiefs, the Raiders may have hit their limit and are falling back down to earth.

16) New Orleans Saints

The Saints have a bye over the weekend, but that’s not enough time to get their quarterback healthy. As it is, they will be with their third string quarterback for the foreseeable future. It’s hard to have high expectations of a team like that.

15) Cleveland Browns

The 45-7 loss might be the low point of the Browns season. Particularly after star receiver Odell Beckham Jr forced his way out of town last week. Insult to injury.

14) Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton is back and he’ll be the first one to let you know. It’s unclear what his long term roll will be in the offense, but if nothing else he’s a red zone weapon that adds a little bite to this Panthers team.

13) Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have come all the way back and are now .500. We will get a chance to see what they’re really made of as they play the Bills and the Bucs over the next two weeks.

12) Los Angeles Chargers

It seems like a long time ago that we were considering the Chargers as perhaps the best team in the AFC. Now they are just a game above .500 and falling behind in their division race. Not all is lost, but they’re trending in the wrong direction.

11) Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers didn’t lose to the Lions. Even with a backup quarterback the Steelers didn’t lose to the Lions. That’s the best I can say about their most recent performance. They are now 5-3-1 and still on pace for the playoffs.

10) New England Patriots

The Patriots are playing their best football of the year. They just blew out a good Browns team and rookie quarterback Mac Jones is looking more and more comfortable each week.

9) Baltimore Ravens

A loss to the Dolphins isn’t good, but bad losses have been going around lately. I’m not convinced the Ravens are a great team, but I’m not hitting the panic button after losing in Miami.

8) Kansas City Chiefs

It’s been a season full of highs and lows in Kansas City, but here they are at the top of their division where we always expected them to be.

7) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers are on a two game losing streak. Even after their bye week, they looked confused and undisciplined. They need to figure things out quickly.

6) Buffalo Bills

The Bills were back to business as usual in their dominating win over the Jets. Buffalo has had a few bumps in the road this year, but they have looked fantastic more often than not.

5) Tennessee Titans

The Titans just keep finding ways to win. They are now tied for the best record in the NFL at 8-2. Is that sustainable without Derrick Henry? I tend to doubt it.

4) Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford has struggled over recent weeks. Thus, the Rams have struggled. It will take a few weeks to build chemistry with Odell Beckham Jr and gear up for the SUper Bowl push.

3) Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are looking as good as I’ve ever seen them. The defense is holding its own without their best player. The hype in Dallas is actual warranted this season.

2) Arizona Cardinals

I’m not putting much stock into games the Cardinals play without Kyler Murray. This team will be healthy soon and proving the doubters wrong again.

1) Green Bay Packers

The Packers are clicking on all cylinders. Subtract an Aaron Rodgers COVID loss and this team is the best team in the NFL.
