The moment Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady decided to return he transformed into a recruiter. Brady reached out to center Ryan Jensen and what do ya know, hours later Jensen re-signed with the Buccaneers. This guy Brady seems to win at everything.
Not So Fast
Tom Brady reached out to free agent to-be Alex Cappa as well. Cappa turned down Brady and the Buccaneers and signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. This is a rare “L” for Brady, losing isn’t really a Brady tradition.
After calling Ryan Jensen to convince him to stay, Tom Brady then tried to call Alex Cappa to see if he could convince him to re-sign but it was too late, #Bengals were already on him, according to @AdamSchefter

To be fair to Cappa, the opportunity to sign a four-year $40 million dollar deal and play with Joe Burrow is something you’d be hard pressed to decline. With Burrow at the helm and the only legitimate contender in the division being Baltimore, it makes total sense. Cappa has secured his financial security AND is going to a perennial contender.. well played young man.
Tom Brady’s loss will be Joe Burrow’s gain: Bucs’ free-agent guard Alex Cappa intends to sign a four-year, $40 million deal with the Bengals after free agency opens, per league sources.

As for the GOAT taking an “L”? Well The Buccaneers took care of that Tuesday by trading for a top-5 guard in Shaq Mason. Sometimes an “L” is a “W” if you know what you’re doing!
