Report: Buccaneers Brady Has Reached Out to WR Julio Jones

0

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been busy in free agency this offseason. Once quarterback Tom Brady announced his return the dominoes started to fall. First it was center Ryan Jensen re-signing, then defensive back Carlton Davis re-upped. The Buccaneers traded for guard Shaq Mason and signed wide receivers Russell Gage and Breshad Perriman, restructured a couple of contracts and signed wide receiver Chris Godwin to a three-year deal. The Buccaneers seem set at the wide receiver position now, right?

Per Skip Bayless of FS1’s Undisputed, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady reached out to recently released wide receiver Julio Jones. Wait, another wide receiver?

Don’t get us wrong, Jones has been a star at receiver for quite awhile. But if we’re being honest his best days are behind him. The Bucs have so many pressing needs to address that adding another receiver seems overkill. Then you factor in that Brady typically gets what he wants and you have to consider the Buccaneers might pull the trigger. Jones would definitely have to be willing to give the Bucs a huge discount,  basically it would have to be a league minimum contract.
