Buccaneers Bowles Talks About What he Hopes to Get out of Rookie Minicamp

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers started their rookie minicamp last week. The minicamp is held to give draft picks and undrafted free agents a chance to work with and make an impression on the coaching staff.

This will be Todd Bowles first offseason at the helm for the Buccaneers. Recently Bowles was asked what he’sookinh for from the rookies.

“Just who can obtain the information we give them,” Bowles stated to the media after Saturday’s practice. “Every day is a new install – who can apply it, who can put it out on the field, who can make mistakes and learn from them. Really, the physical part will take care of itself. We want to see what kind of shape their in. We know they’re not in tip-top shape, but really it’s the mental part of it. Getting them to run around and start understanding the scheme.”

The Buccaneers have a stacked roster, so rookies will really have to stand out to be considered for playing time. Look for some gritty battles in this year’s training camp, especially in the trenches.
