Buccaneers’ Bowles, “I Know Exactly When Tom is Coming Back”

Hey! Did you hear Buccaneers’ quarterback Tom Brady has taken an extended leave of absence from training camp? If you haven’t you may want to check your internet connection.

Tom Brady was excused from training camp recently. Head coach Todd Bowles said this was a planned, 11-day absence from the team to address “personal things.”

Bowles said the 45-year-old quarterback’s break from practice was arranged before camp began, adding that Brady won’t return until after the Bucs’ preseason game at Tennessee on Aug. 20.

This news instantly awoke the conspiracy theorists and the rumors dominated the internet newsfeeds. These rumors consisted of everything from health coverage concerns to infidelity to… being a participant on the TV show, “The Masked Singer”.

Thankfully Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times recently spoke with Bowles about this.

“Do I look worried?” Bowles said, smiling broadly. “I’m not worried, so I don’t know why anyone else would be worried.

“I know exactly when Tom is coming back, and I’ve consistently said it would be sometime after the Titans game (on Saturday).”

Bowles has said Brady would return sometime after Saturday’s preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.

This is one of those stories we don’t particularly care to over-cover. Typically when there’s no factual information on why a player is away from the team, it ends up being personal or health related. Brady has earned his privacy without a doubt. And hopefully this report by Stroud will put some of the speculation to rest. Hopefully….
