Two Buccaneers Snubbed by NFL Top 100

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been amongst the best teams in the league for a few seasons now. So it makes perfect sense that they’d be well represented in the “NFL Top 100” list.

The Bucs landed five players on the list, but it’s the two players left off that has people talking. This may come from a place of bias, but how in the hell are Lavonte David and Vita Vea not on this list?

Buccaneers’ Snub No. 1

Vea being overlooked for what he brings to the table is surprising, but somewhat understandable. Eating up double teams and collapsing the pocket aren’t the highlight reel fodder media honks spend much time talking about. But this list is voted on by players, created by the guys on the field. Which is ironic as not one single player has been able to handle Vea one on one.

Lavonte David is and always has been one of the most underrated and overlooked player in the league. All David has done is quietly average over 100 tackles a year throughout his career. This includes nearly hitting the century mark again last season. Obviously this is a yearly list, but David should get consideration for long-term consistency.

The last 20 of the NFL Top 100 list has yet to be released, but the league did reveal the last 20 names in alphabetical order.

The Buccaneers who did make the list are as follows. OLB Shaq Barrett (No. 86), S Antoine Winfield Jr. (No. 75), LB Devin White (No. 64), WR Mike Evans (No. 53), and OT Tristan Wirfs (No. 41).
