The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have ruled defensive back Carlton Davis “Out” for today’s game against divisional rival the Carolina Panthers.
Bucs have ruled out cornerback Carlton Davis (hip) for Sunday’s game at Carolina. Already without Sean Murphy-Bunting, so might be a start for rookie Zyon McCollum.

Davis originally injured his hip on week five against the Falcons. The injury was further aggravated in last week’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Per Greg Auman of The Athletic, “Jamel Dean will still start in one spot. McCollum has barely played defensive snaps in the NFL, so a big test if he gets the call. They’re in better shape at safety if Edwards is able to go as expected. Bucs have elevated same two players from practice squad in corner Anthony Chesley and rookie safety Nolan Turner. Tackle Josh Wells has been activated off injured reserve.”
