Week 18 Bold Prediction: Evans Reaches 1,000 Yards

0

This week provides yet another opportunity for Tom Brady and Mike Evans to get on the same page. Luckily for them, this just might be the defense to do it against. The assumption here is the offensive line and Byron Leftwich’s play-calling perform as they should.

The Prediction

Mike Evans and Tom Brady finally get on the same page. The result is a win for the Buccaneers and a record-setting game for Evans. With seven catches for 97 yards, Evans extends his 1,000 yards season streak.

The Last Matchup

In the first match up against the Panthers Evans and Brady combined for  nine receptions for 96 yards on 15 targets. His third highest total all year. Unfortunately it as in a losing effort where the run game sputtered and Brady was forced to throw over 40 times in a game. Not an ideal situation.

Current Situation

The Carolina Panthers are hurting in the the corner department. Jaycee Horn, Justin Layne, Stanley Thomas-Oliver III and Donte Jackson are all out. That leaves C.J Henderson and Keith Taylor Jr. are likely to start. Behind them will be, fresh off the street, Josh Norman and T.J. Carrie.

Since the last eeting between the two teams the secondary has been poriss. They allowed D.J Chark four catches for 108 yards and Amon-Ra St. Brown seven for 76 yards. They also allowed Diontae Johnson 10 catches for 98, Cortland Sutton six for 75, and Demarcus Robinson 9 for 128 yards.

These corners can be beat.

Final Thought

Evans sits at  917 yards and is averaging 65.5 yards a game. He needs 83 more to reach a new milestone. With this game being a must win and Tom Brady’s propensity to help teammates reach new heights I think this week the Buccaneers win and cap it off with a new Mike Evans record.
