This is a new segment we’ll be doing on Bucs Report moving forward called “Captain’s Table/Walk the Plank”, where there are certain plays/events/people that are worthy of being at the Captain’s Table (good), or certain plays/events/people that are forced to Walk the Plank (bad).
So, without further ado, here we go.
Captain’s Table:
Ronde Barber’s HOF Ring ceremony
Here’s a little hint for this particular segment; not going to be any game-related Captain’s Table mentions for the Bucs here. But, it was really cool to see Ronde Barber finally get his due, as he’s deserved to be in the HOF for a while now, and now he’s finally in. Plus, he gave a little jab to the “Eagles” fans that decided to come to RayJay since, you know, the Eagles are pretty damn good right now.
The Toy Story Game This Sunday
This isn’t Bucs-related at all, but there’s going to be a Toy Story broadcast of the Falcons-Jags game this Sunday morning, and I think we should all be very excited for it. The Nick broadcasts of the NFL games have been excellent, and I expect nothing less from this segment too.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
Hey, America’s most talked-about new couple can’t go without getting mentioned. Taylor Swift was spotted both at the Kansas City game this past Sunday against the Bears and after the game hanging with Eagles center Jason Kelce. Also, the Eagles have that running back D’Andre SWIFT, who’s pretty darn good, and has that cool last name.
Walk the Plank:
Bucs Offensive Line
All of it. Awful. Top to bottom. No running game, Baker wasn’t comfortable in the pocket. They gave up a frickin’ safety for God’s sake. Horrendous stuff. The big boys might break the plank they have to walk on, but it’s worth it, because they sure as hell don’t deserve to stay on the ship after that performance.
Bucs run defense
Huh, the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball was putrid for the Bucs. Almost like the Eagles commit a lot of resources to that phase of their team and are rewarded pretty handsomely for it, because they know how to draft and how to identify talent. Crazy how that works.
Bucs fans
I mean, this was a Philly home game. What the hell, guys? We couldn’t show up for a 2-0 team that’s been playing pretty well? The fans sounded as dead as the team looked, and it was just an ugly game in all facets. I get it, Tampa is a city full of northerners who won’t shut the fuck up about how much better it is up north but also won’t just take their whiney asses back up there, but c’mon y’all. Let’s do better.
