Captain’s Table / Walk the Plank: Buccaneers vs Bills

0

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell to the Buffalo Bills 24-18 on Thursday Night Football to fall to 3-4 on the season. While the game didn’t go the way the Pewter Pirates wanted, there was some good. But mostly bad.

Walk the Plank:

Clock management

Genuinely one of the worst displays of running an offense I’ve ever seen. The Bucs took over 7 minutes in their 4th quarter drive to score that last TD. Are they trying to tank? Like seriously, is Baker Mayfield and this coaching staff getting money under the table to lose these games?

The offense

18 points this week. 13 last week. 6 the week before. The run game is bad. Baker doesn’t look much better. The play calling lacks creativity. Blame whoever you want. It’s a dogshit group right now.

The defense

The Bills are really good. I understand. This Buccaneers defense is also supposed to at least be decent. That’s obviously not as true as we probably would’ve liked to have thought. They looked really bad.

The special teams

Well, we’ve run out of phases of the game. The blocked kick didn’t end up mattering, but I’ve got Chase McLaughlin on my fantasy team got damn it. I needed those points.

Green Day performing after the game?

Uh… yeah I don’t really know what to say about this one. Green Day? Yeesh.

Luke Goedeke’s trio of false starts

How many times can you move before a snap?

Captain’s Table:

2 Chainz announcing Green Day performing after the game

Or maybe this should be in the “Walk the Plank” section. I don’t know. It was kinda funny at least. I didn’t necessarily mind it.

The game being on FOX

I despise Amazon. It’s a horrible company run by the worst human being to exist in the 21st century. With that said, Amazon Prime broadcasts these Thursday night games, but Tampa Bay people (and I’d assume Buffalo people) got to watch it on FOX. And that was nice. So thanks Big Daddy Overlord Lizard King Jeff. That’s awful human of you.

Antoine Winfield, Jr.

You know, going into writing this, I didn’t think I’d be able to say anything positive at all about this game. Surprisingly I was wrong. I really amaze myself sometimes. AWJ came through with another huge play that unfortunately will only prove to be another nice highlight to play on the jumbo-tron while the Bucs are getting dog walked in another game.

Jake Camarda getting into it

I loved watching a punter (who was I guess the holder in this context) getting into it. Really fun stuff in an otherwise real dud of a game.
