How was this game between the Buccaneers and the Falcons close?
I think i died and came back to life several times. This game was a horrific mess on both sides. I can safely say nobody wanted to win today. However, the Bucs did a better job at not losing the game then the Falcons did, so Todd Bowles and Dave Canales will get a ten-year extension.
This is yet another game in which Bowles did his utmost to sink the team. Luckily, the Falcons ship sank faster. us pirates know a thing or two about how to save a sinking ship after all. But he nearly cost them the game (and myself another life), with his soft zone coverage. Because he has a memory of a goldfish, he completely forgot how completely ineffective that was against CJ Stroud.

Now, Desmond Ridder isn’t exactly Stround, but he certainly looked competent enough most this game. The Falcons managed to get to the four yard line from the 25 and very nearly snatched the game away. Do not tell me Bowles did a good job here, I will slap you.
And then we get to Dave Canales. Much to my complete and utter shock, his play calling was just as useless as it was the first half. To say he called a bad game would be an understatement. It was the worst game. He somehow managed to replicate the utter stupidity of the 4th and 2 pitch backwards by running out of shotgun on 3rd and 4th and short. I could not believe what I was saying. These offensive coaches time and again keep doing this, and it is stupid every single time.
But to get to individual performances, no receiver for the Buccaneers had a good game. Chris Godwin managed to get 53 yards, 34 of which came off one catch. He decided to take one for his coaches by not making a single contested catch virtually all game. Truly a team player if there ever was one. And no one on the defense can tackle. I have received word they did watch Devin White tape before the game to study up on his tackling form.

This is absolutely not a game the Bucs should be proud of. Had they been playing a competent team, their asses would’ve been handed to them. They are not inspiring that much confidence they can do anything at all against stiff competition. Can this team turn it around? Sure, but to do that would require a coaching overhaul, which is not happening. However, they are on top of the division, as shit as that may be.
