From a night at the museum to a morning in Jail.

In case you haven’t heard this story. Louis Murphy was arrested at Tampa International Airpot last week when he was discovered by Airport Police to have the loaded weapon in his backpack. Murphy does not have a concealed weapons permit and is facing a 3rd-degree felony which carries a max sentence of five years in Florida State Prison.

He was taken to Hillsborough County Jail, where he posted a cash bond. Later he made a public apology in which he stated that the reason for having the gun in his backpack is because he had earlier hid the weapon from his young daughter and forgot that it was in there. He called it and honest mistake.

This is the second offseason in a row that Murphy has made headlines for not so good reasons. Last offseason he made headlines when broke out a window of a Museum because he was locked inside after drinking too much at a friends wedding. He was not formally charged with a crime in that particular incident.
