Carlton Davis is Dealing with Back Injury

Rookie cornerback Carlton Davis has been battling a groin injury for the past few weeks and to add to his misery, he is dealing with a back injury that could keep him sidelined for the Falcons game. His back injury could likely have been caused by the ongoing groin injury he has been dealing with since the Steelers game.

Davis is currently listed as questionable for Sunday, but due to his limitation in practice and missing Monday’s practice altogether, there is a high probability that Davis will not play.

If Davis is sidelined, then it will be up to Ryan Smith and M.J. Stewart to share in the majority of snaps. In what would have been a likely three-man rotation on the opposite side of Grimes, is now down to two, and that will strain the Buccaneer secondary’s ability to cover both Riddley and Jones. Hopefully, Safety Jordan Whitehead will not be a healthy scratch this week.
