Jameis Winston: Making moves

Jameis Winston is proving all the critics wrong. As a matter of fact, with the win over Atlanta, Jameis became the fourth QB in the past 10 years to have a quarterback rating of 88 or higher in back to back games. That may not seem like much to some. But that’s a big deal when Jameis has more critics than YELP. The only thing the critics can talk about now is the Buccaneers record. I think it’s time to put that to bed as well.

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers gush about Jameis Winston being willing to do anything necessary to help the team win. That includes the quarterback putting his body in harm’s way as a lead blocker. A day after the Bucs blew a 17-point, second-half lead before beating the Atlanta Falcons in overtime, coach Lovie Smith was able to chuckle about the rookie helping clear running room for Doug Martin on a 4-yard run that led to the go-ahead field goal in Sunday’s 23-20 victory.”Reported by Jason Getz

“Winston has a passer rating of 123 when throwing the ball 20+ yards. His rating is second among quarterbacks, behind Philip Rivers. Winston has completed 11-of-23 passes of 20 yard or more for two touchdowns and no interceptions. He’s also averaging more than 13 yards per attempt.”– Reported by Joe Kania
