The NFL abandoned the city of St. Louis, leaving them high and dry. Similar to someone walking out on the dinner bill, The NFL left The Gate Way City, stuck with an enormous payment on their stadium.
“The president of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen sends a letter to the NFL seeking $36 million to make up projected tax losses from the St. Louis Rams leaving. Aldermanic President Lewis Reed argues that the NFL can’t just up and leave without making the city of St. Louis whole.” – “We expected the 30-year lease agreement to be in place,” Reed says. “We’re now stuck with at least six years of payments on the current dome at $6 million a year.” – Reported by Kevin Killeen
