This does not mean that Tampa is locked in on Noah Spence. But, the fact Jay Hayes was the one doing it makes this very interesting, especially considering that Spence is likely to be available at the ninth pick. Spence was outstanding in college but did have a major setback. I do not think that would deter Tampa from selecting him ninth overall. The fact that he performed poorly in the combine could deter Tampa, but he did excel in other athletic areas adding some weight to him being a likely pick. It will come down to what Tampa sees available at the ninth pick and what they see as a bigger need to the team.
