The Titans made sure to keep their star tight end around. Titans announced on Friday that they have extended Delanie Walker’s contract for two more years with a $8.2 million guarantee. The Titans’ GM Jon Robinson stated that they are excited to get the deal done that Walker is an integral part of the offense.

Walker led all tight ends with 94 catches last season, and he set franchise records with receptions and 1,088 yards receiving.  head coach Mike Mularkey called the signing, “a great day for the Titans” and continued to say, “He is one of the best players in the NFL, and he is a guy that has continued to represent himself, the organization and the city of Nashville in a positive manner since the day he arrived. Delanie has been a pleasure to coach and it is very gratifying as a coach to watch him perform at such a high-level week after week.”

Delanie Walker’s extension follows the Washington Redskins contract extension of their star tightened Jordan Reed.
