New 49ers HC, Chip Kelly, has nothing but high praises for the rookie and his ability to quickly learn the system in San Franciso. “I think he’s done a really nice job. He’s really intelligent. He picked things up conceptually very quickly. I think he’s already been exposed to multiple systems at the college level, so we’ve been impressed with him. He’s very athletic. I think he was the fastest quarterback at the combine. He’s big. He’s got a good arm.”
It is unlikely that Driskel will get solid playing time as a rookie, he is still technically, listed as the No.4 QB on the roster. However, considering that Colin Kaepernick has not been cleared to play, Driskel has been listed as the N0.3. If Driskel continues to improve he could become a starter in Kelly’s system.
